Backed By Real Risk Assessment

How We Decide: Save It, Watch It, or Take It Down

"It needs to come down" shouldn't be a guess, and it shouldn't be a sales pitch. Levi is TRAQ-qualified — trained specifically in how arborists assess tree risk — so every removal call follows an actual framework, not a gut feeling.

Open, Easy Access

Straightforward drop

Open yard, nothing overhead, room to fell it in sections on the ground. The fastest and most affordable way to remove a tree.

Tight, Technical Access

Rigged down piece by piece

Over a roof, a fence, or a pool. Every piece gets roped and lowered by hand instead of dropped — more time, more equipment, more skill, and it shows up in the quote.

Included Bark

Where two trunks or major limbs grow tight together, bark gets trapped in the joint instead of solid wood — a weak union that can split without warning.

Root Plate Movement

Soil cracking or lifting at the base means the root system is losing its grip — often the clearest sign a tree is about to go over.

Trunk Cavity & Decay

How much solid wood is left holding the tree up matters more than how big the cavity looks from the outside.

Girdling Roots

Roots that circle back and choke the trunk instead of growing outward slowly cut off the tree's own support system.

3Questions, not a guess

What a TRAQ assessment actually weighs

Target — what's in range if it fails. Likelihood of failure — what the defects actually indicate. Consequence — how bad the outcome would be. All three have to line up before we recommend removal. Miss on any one, and it's a case for watching it, not cutting it down.

How Our Tree Removal Service Works

Tree Scouts provides full-service tree removal for residential and commercial properties across Central Texas. Whether you're dealing with a dead tree, storm damage, or a hazardous tree near your home, our ISA-certified arborists handle it safely and correctly.

1

On-Site Evaluation

We visit your property to assess the tree's condition, surroundings, and removal requirements. If the tree doesn't need to come down, we'll tell you. If it does, we explain the options and quote the work.

2

Safe Removal and Equipment

Our crews are trained for removals of all sizes, whether the tree is in an open yard or tightly spaced between buildings. We use rigging, lifts, and ground protection methods as needed to take it down section by section.

3

Haul-Off and Cleanup

We remove all logs, limbs, and debris unless you request to keep any wood. The job isn't finished until the site is cleared and inspected. Your Tree Scout point of contact will do a walkthrough before closing out the work. You approve everything before any payment is collected.

Had a massive dead pecan leaning toward our back porch. Three other companies gave quotes and none of them inspired confidence. Tree Scouts sent their arborist out the next day, explained the whole process, and removed it safely in about 4 hours. The yard looked cleaner after they left than before they arrived. Worth every penny.

Common Questions

How do I know if a tree needs to be removed?

Signs include heavy lean, root damage, large dead limbs, decay in the trunk, or close proximity to structures. We can inspect it and give you a straight answer.

Do I need a permit?

In some cities, yes, especially for protected trees or certain trunk diameters. We'll walk you through it and handle the paperwork if needed.

How low do you cut the tree stump?

We cut it low and flush unless you request stump grinding as an add-on. If you want full removal, we'll include that in the quote.

Is your crew insured?

Yes. We carry general liability coverage of $1M per occurrence plus $2M aggregate, and a workers comp policy with $2M employer liability for our crew. Texas doesn't require tree companies to carry workers comp, and most don't, so always ask before letting a crew on your property.
