Oak Wilt

Definition

Oak wilt is a fatal fungal disease (Bretziella fagacearum) that affects oak trees across the United States, with particular severity in Central Texas. The fungus spreads through interconnected root systems and via sap-feeding beetles that visit fresh oak wounds.

In Central Texas

Oak wilt is the most serious tree disease in Central Texas, with severe pressure across Williamson, Travis, and Hays Counties. Tree Scouts holds ISA TRAQ and Texas Pesticide Applicator credentials specifically for oak wilt identification and treatment.
