Drought Stress

Definition

Drought stress is a physiological condition where a tree's water demand exceeds available soil moisture, resulting in wilting, leaf scorch, premature leaf drop, and increased vulnerability to disease and insect attack.

In Central Texas

Central Texas trees frequently face drought stress between July and October when summer heat and reduced rainfall compound clay soil moisture issues.
