Cabling & Bracing

Definition

Cabling and bracing is the installation of steel cables and threaded rods to provide supplemental structural support for trees with codominant stems, weak branch unions, or split trunks. The systems redistribute mechanical stress to reduce failure risk.

In Central Texas

Tree Scouts uses cabling and bracing on Central Texas heritage live oaks and pecans where preservation of the existing tree is the priority.
